Build and Kill Zombies Skills Guide
The green tile is a talent panel. Buy contact or speed — not both — until the kart can finish a Drive.
The SKILLS tile sits fourth on the left stack, under Index, above Settings. It is one of the first icons new players tap because it is bright green. Tap it too early and you own a talent on a kart that still dies at Distance 0. This page is the spending order.
Fan videos titled “How to Build Good Car and Get Good Skills” exist because the two systems are a pair. Read how to build a car first. Then come here.
What Skills is not
- Not a gun hotbar.
- Not Index.
- Not turbo itself (turbo is a Car Part; Skills may buff speed).
- Not co-op. Co-Op is the tile below Settings.
Skills nodes persist on the account. The kart you Drive is the Save you loaded. A speed node on a bumper truck is wasted. A contact node on a needle is wasted. Match the node to the Save.
Buy order
- Nose from Car Parts (roller or bumper).
- Wheels or turbo if studs/s is still 10.
- One Skills node that matches that nose.
- A second node only after a boss window proves the first one mattered.
- Supports rolls after that.
If a node costs more than a short farm loop from how to farm cash, skip it. Codes and the group chest should hit the nose first.
Contact versus speed
Two families show up in every clip and every script GUI (AUTO SKILL):
- Contact — more delete on ram. Pair with the S-tier spike roller on the weapons tier.
- Speed — more studs/s. Pair with the speed needle build. Dangerous on an unarmored seat.
Until the tree is datamined into a public, stable tooltip list, we rank jobs, not made-up node names. If a patch names a node in-game, it will be added here with that exact string. We will not invent “Inferno Plow III” to look complete.
Script auto-skill
The SoftKillz-style GUI includes an AUTO SKILL toggle next to AUTO BUY and AUTO BOSS. That toggle spends for you. It does not know your Save. Manual clicks on the Skills tile are safer while you still learn which node matches which kart. See scripts for the risk note.
Co-op Skills
Five players, five trees. Specialize. One contact roller, one speed scout, one bumper tank. Do not all buy the same first node. Online co-op is how the King 1x1x1x1 badge exists at a low win rate — mixed Skills plus mixed builds.
When to respec (if a reset appears)
As of the September 2026 HUD there is no labeled respec button on the left stack. Assume nodes are sticky. Buy slowly. If a future update adds a reset, we will document the cost here instead of guessing.
Until then: one matching node, one Save, one Drive. That is a complete Skills plan for the first week of an account.
Reading the tile during a session
Open Skills only on the pad. The green tile fights Drive for attention on mobile, and a mid-ram tap will stall you on the checkered strip with Distance still at 0. After a boss wipe, repair HP pips before you shop the tree — a new node does not resurrect a 40% brick. If a friend in co-op just bought a contact node, do not copy it blindly; ask which Save they loaded. Mixed trees are how five-player servers beat King 1x1x1x1 at all. If the tile shows a pip after a code dump, that is a reminder to spend, not a command to dump the whole wallet. Spend one node, Drive once, then decide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for lobby, Drive, codes, and boss timers.
When should I open Skills?
After the kart has a real nose and can finish a short Drive. Not before.
Do Skills work in co-op?
Yes, but each player has their own tree. Specialize instead of copying one node five times.
Is AUTO SKILL required?
No. It is a third-party toggle. The Skills tile is enough.
